Year 10 students

Roald Dahl (1916-1990) was one of the world's greatest children's authors.

Some photos of Year 10's translating Roald Dahl from the page to the stage.

I found children's theatre more challenging then any other unit we have done. Showing big expressions and trying to engage the audience is harder then it seems. It was also very enjoyable, i really loved the different interpretations that were shown. I can't wait until the big performance, when we actually perform for children.

I really enjoyed this drama task. I found it challenging yet very entertaining. I loved the freedom we were given as we were able to write some of our own lines, I think that it made out plays more unique and different. Everyone did so well and their acting was so exellent. I am so exicted and can't wait for the big childrens theater show!!!!!!

This performance was great fun. It was fun to use different and bigger exaggerations. It was great to see the way some of the girls interpretated the script. You could tell that this task suited everyone because everyone had fun with it and everyone presented it well. I can't wait for the big performance.

i thought this task was fun and it was a good change in what we usally do. Trying to use big gestures and expressing our actions was quite a challenge, but it has given me alot more confidence and i cannot wait till we get to do our big performance for the primary school children :)

This drama exercise/task was absolutely wonderful. It prepared us before the real performance and it had extremely improved our notion of childrens' theatre.
It was exciting to see all the performances. Even if all came from the same story, everyone had theirs completely radical to make it not tedious. The ideas were rather amazing and the whole task was outstanding; my confidence just gradually grew up.

Looking forward to the performance.

I found that the high energy of childrens theature was very enjoyable. Doing the jack and the beanstalk play was a great challenge but came with great rewards. I think that this was a great experiance. I look forward to being able to preform our next one.

Childrens theatre wasn't like ahything we had done before, but we alot of effort into it and it definitly paid off. When we saw everyone else's performance's i was amazed at how everyone had managed to make there's very unique but they we all still very enjoyable and funny.

Great task for us, can't wait to do the big childrens theatre
